Alongside our colleagues at E.P.Ceramics, E. Poole (masquerading as Hawaii 5 Oh No!) saw off the 22 strong competition to win the CWCF Dragon Boat Festival. Rising from 18th place after the first heat, a little juggling of weight and might saw us into the top six after the second heat and competing in the final.
Our competitors fought a worthy battle with all six boats passing the finish line within one second of each other. Our success is a testament to the sheer grit and determination of our team and the boisterous encouragement of our loyal supporters who wore their lei with pride. The pictures speak for themselves shocked, elated and just slightly merry (and that’s just our supporters).
After the racing had been completed, CWCF presented a cheque for £10,000 to the Building Lives Foundation; a charity that enables young people from some of London’s most deprived communities to gain training and apprenticeships within the construction industry. E. Poole are delighted to have been a part of this great event.
